Here are a few commonly asked questions that may
help...
Managed Antivirus
+ How is your antivirus system monitored?
After loading the client software on your computer, it will
continually report back to our server to get updates and submit a log file of
any potential viruses it encountered and what actions it may have taken. We
receive notifications of any virus activity on our server. We can look at the
individual log file and get details necessary to taking corrective actions.
+ What do I need to do if I get a virus?
When the system detects a virus, it will try and delete
or quarantine the virus. Once deleted or quarantined, the virus is no longer a
threat. If the virus cannot be deleted or quarantined, we will remotely help you
to take the necessary steps in removing the virus. We can also send you
information on the particular virus if you're interested in knowing the damage
potential, reported infections, and distribution potential.
+ How does the client software get installed?
From our Managed
Antivirus page, you can login using the username and password we provide.
You'll need to enter the computer's MAC address before you can begin the setup.
Once you've logged in, you'll be directed to the installation page. From that
point, the installation is fully automated. In some rare instances, our client
software has a difficult time removing existing virus software such as Norton or
MacAfee. In that case, you can manually uninstall the old software and then
begin our client installation. If you run into any problems, you can always contact us for assistance.
+ What can I do if the installation doesn't complete?
If the installation gets interrupted for any reason, you will
need to contact us to remove the MAC address from the server. Only then will you
be able to start the installation.

Web Development
+ How much does a website cost?
The price of a website depends on a number of circumstances...how
many pages will the site include, how much content will be provided to the
designer, will you require a photographer to take custom pictures of your
business, etc.. Each website requires a different approach to marketing,
scalability, and functionality. You will need to speak with our web development
team for a free consultation.
+ Why do you not recommend using templates?
Even though templates can give you something "pretty" to look
at, they're difficult, if not impossible to make modifications to. A website's primary focus should be on content and secondary focus on looks.
Some templates still require the use of web design skills to even replace the
content and post on a server. Also, a template is not going to be customized
your businesses with specific graphics and photos.
+ What are some things you do when designing a website?
There is a lot of "behind the scenes" work that goes on when
designing a website. The layout must be flexible to vertical scrollbars and
adding or removing content later on. The graphics and other images (to include
flash animations) must download quickly yet remain sharp and crisp. Search
engines will need key elements to categorize and maximize your site's visibility
to the public. Placement of items on a website is critical to allow visitors to
navigate with ease and with the least amount of confusion. The content itself
must be informative and give as much detail as necessary. Once a site is
complete, a series of tests are run to make sure the site will keep consistent
on many different monitors, resolutions, operating systems, browser versions,
etc.
+ Why should I have a website?
No matter what your business may be, marketing is going to be
a major part of it. Advertising comes in many different forms such as newspaper,
phone books, billboards, pens, letterhead, signs, etc.. A website is a powerful
marketing tool that most consumers expect you to have. They like to know more
about the company they're thinking of doing business with. A website can show
virtually every aspect of your business. Some businesses are even run solely
online with no store-front location. If you compare costs, you'll find that a
website costs much less than other traditional means of advertising and you're
getting a substantial amount more. Newspapers will run your ad for a day,
commercials for a few seconds, billboards have a limit on space, and so on.

Network Support
+ I'm not able to surf the internet or check email?
If you subscribe to high-speed internet, check the DSL or
Cable modem to verify the status light is on. If the light is blinking or off,
you'll need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Before calling
however, you may want to unplug the modem for 10-20 seconds to reset the
connection with your ISP.
+ What if I lose my connection with the other computers on the network?
Your first step is to check the network connection at the
back of your computer. Sometimes a computer will get bumped and the cable may
not have a snug connection with the PC.
Secondly, you can try and reboot the computer. This will try
to re-establish the network connections when the computer boots up.
Thirdly, you may ask others around you if they are
experiencing the same issue. If so, the problem is more than likely not your
computer. The problem could be with the router our switch. In that case, try
unplugging the device for 10-20 seconds.
If these problems don't fix the connection problem, contact us and let us know if anything has been changed
recently on the network and what steps you've taken so far.
+ Why can't I print to my printer?
There are essentially two ways to print. One way is directly
from your computer to your printer. The other way is from your computer through
the network to the printer. Either way, make sure all cables between your
computer and the printer are all plugged in. Next, you might try to print a test
page from the printer properties. If your test print gets printed okay, chances
are you could have software problems with a particular program trying to print.
If your test print does not print out, you might try to delete the
printer and add it back. Be careful to not remove a printer that another
program might be relying on until you have made a note of all the printer's
setting.
